One use of ai where i would say it was a solid thing is a game called gug , you input a word and it makes a completely new minion on the fly ( mechanics and all ) based on what you typed , the gugs are like bacterial monstrosities and since its all based off the words you put in. As for the art of the minions i think the art pool is stuff in house just due to the similarities between the gugs
It is one of the few situations where ai stuff is really the only way to do that
