As someone who enjoys AI (as a tool and just as a toy) - I’ll freely agree that there are major issues (both with the technology and the companies behind them) and very legitimate concerns with it. The ease of using it to create content and misinformation (and by extension low-effort content flooding the internet), copyright boundaries in regards to training, power/electricity usage, etc.
AI is not going to go away, at least not fully - the Pandora’s box has opened and cannot be closed anymore - but there are very much steps we can take to limit its impact both using regulations, being more aware of what we consume, not blindly trusting anything (which honestly more people really need to), and improving the technology to hopefully limit mistakes it makes.
I think 8:50 says my thoughts, AI can be a helpful tool (and can be fun to mess around with if your interested in it) - but it’ll never be able to fully replace humans be it in terms of accurate research or art/images.
