Raw LLM Responses

I'm not in the art community but I find this very interesting. When AI art started to appear, I found it really nice. As someone that can't draw to save his life, it allowed me to get some visual for my characters in D&D or stuff like that, things I never had before. But since all this came out about how these AI are trained, I'm not that much of an enjoyer anymore. I think AI art is okay as long as it is trained with the authorization of the artist (like... you know, how basic copyright works), but the way it is done now is really bad. As to what you said about how AI is used, I'm not sure I agree completely. I really do get your point that it's better to learn it than to to the easy road, usually. But, I also think that it can help when you need something punctually. Like, for exemple, me. I really occasionally (like once every 6 month or even more) need a drawing for something (actually, I don't need it, I guess I'd like it), like a new character. I'm not passionate enough about drawing to want to take time to learn it, I have other passions and interest that take priority on this, and I don't have friend that can draw either. I guess where I'm getting at is that it's not that using AI is intrinsically bad, it's about how and when. I don't see the point in using AI to summarize a message from a friend, but I see it when summarizing a work meeting. As you said, using AI to simplify or remove the activities that we do because we want is a bad thing. Something that I feel could be a good parallel would be these sites that allow you to build your own website easy, without have to learn to code. I'm an IT guy, and yeah, it's a bit scary to see my job being potentially threaten by these. But the truth is, I'll always be needed, because in the end, these products are good for small, simple project, people that want a quick and easy website once to do something. But if you want a real website, something that will require maintenance and complexity, you'll need IT people to do it for you (or learn to code yourself). I see it basically the same way. Need a quick simple drawing for something easy, one-time deal type of thing, AI is okay. Want something of quality, or you need some regularly, learn to do it, or pay an artist to do it for you, same as a website. Side note : I randomly stumbled here and I gotta say, I love your drawings !
