I respectfully disagree. Anecdotally, AI tools have played a remarkable role in elevating the overall academic performance and confidence of our students around here. Is it because of the ease of cheating? Absolutely not. It is because this technology introduces efficiency, cutting out an enormous amount of precious time that is wasted on nonsense variables in education. Even in impromptu spoken language, we are noting a profound improvement in fluency and breadth of vocabulary of our students. What we did differently, is that instead of sounding like histrionic alarmists, we embraced the technology and actively taught our students to use AI as a brainstorming tool. In fact, some of our students have even turned into sleuths, compiling a list of inaccuracies that they encounter when interacting with these tools, then proceed to find the correct information. Even on standardized tests such as PSAT, SAT, AP exams, our students' outcome has significantly improved. And perhaps, most importantly, with the efficiency that AI tools afford our students, for the first time ever, they are using the extra time to experiment with new novel ventures. Just the other day, I was speaking with a sophomore who is now self-teaching herself to paint in the style of Renaissance masters.
