I hope everyone realizes that nightshade was made as a proof of concept for a specific image recognition model under very closed conditions and is pretty much guaranteed not to work on any large-scale scraping done by companies. All they have to do to get rid of the effect is to just jpeg it a little, which they are effectively doing in their compression step. I know the whole "haha take that AI" thing sounds cool and david-vs-goliath-y but this really doesn't work and is pretty much a placebo to make artists feel good. To be sure, I agree with alot of your critiques of AI and understand why you're doing what you're doing, but if you think this is somehow hurting AI companies or anything, they're laughing at you. You're just feeding their models even more and whats even worse is you're doing it thinking you're hurting them.
