Many years ago, I want to say when the model 3 first came out, I was invited to a Tesla sales event. While I was test driving the model S the salesperson put so much emphasis on selling me the “full self driving” he told me to take my hands off the wheel, feet away from the pedals, and use an non-consensual other car as a part of their demo. I tried to do it once but chickened out and moved on to driving it manually to enjoy the performance and uniqueness the electric experience was.
The fact that they only added distracted driver safeguards after bad press and maybe court order (my memory is foggy), they literally call or called it “FULL SELF DRIVING” and autopilot, it has been over promised and under delivered for years, and on and on this has been a long time coming and frankly they deserve more punishment than even this. Elon is a pathological liar and it’s shocking this hasn’t happened more… or worse’s it does, and it’s being suppressed.
