Unlike the computer engineer comment somewhere in here, I'm not an engineer, just an above average user. Elon musk is going around in circles, spouting nonsense.
A.I. doesn't necessarily pose any danger. The real dangers are in what people do with it. A digital god, would be able to assist people in decision making (some people are more prone to making their lives, and the lives of others worse). I need an assistant, a digital god, that's there to watch for my wellbeing. I'm not someone who plays to God for help. According to Elon musk, all human beings have been the smartest... Compared to what? We are so selfish, unaware, and simply put, idiotic, we really need a god, one created by us, existing to make life livable, beyond the dog eat dog mantra we have lived in our entire lives.
For those who are religious, I'm not against your personal beliefs.
