UPDATE: I brought this up with my husband and he had a really good point. The businesses, like Amazon, need everyone to have jobs and they know this. If the people can't eat, they can't make Amazon purchases. AI is global too so.... I like Bernie's ideas here (except for what he said about healthcare). It would be a good start. I came back because I stopped watching after he said Trump devastated the healthcare system.... Ha ... ha... ha 😅 Bernie almost lost me there. I voted for Obama who was supposed to be the healer of the American healthcare system. Others said he was bailing out the insurance companies but i didn't believe them. I fought hard for Obama only to he slapped in the face when my husband applied for healthcare through marketplace. They said he could afford more than $400 bronze level only and for himself alone. He was a fulltime student making ten dollars per hour. I was a stay at home mom. I'm not a Trumper. I think we need to be very careful with him. However, I will never vote Democrat again either. I also think our politics are beyond corrupt on both sides. The fact that Bernie is sitting here like we're all stupid enough to believe that our healthcare is and has been anything but a disaster for my entire adult life at least, is absolutely ridiculous. Our healthcare system makes me want to puke. I hate Obamacare and I feel like a fool for ever having hoped for it. How many of us are sick and the doctors take our money but do nothing to help us??? I almost died from an ectopic pregnancy after having gone to the doctor THREE TIMES for excruciating abdominal pain. One doctor asked if I was sure it wasn't heartburn another gave me a pamphlet for pelvic pain. I wound up having to be taken by ambulance to emergency surgery because I was bleeding internally after my fallopian tube burst. Guess how much that cost! I still had to pay the doctors for every visit that they didn't do shit too! I had babesia duncani. Despite abnormal tests, they did nothing and it went untreated.... Guess what, I still had to pay! My sister's baby had been breach for the entire third trimester. It was documented but no one tried to turn the baby nor did they inform my sister. They forgot and went to induce her. At the last minute, when she was at her appointment for her induction, they were like "Oops! Csection!" She was more than a week late mind you... you think that would have been a clue. Guess how much that csection cost! Thousands! She's still paying on it while she struggles to pay her mortgage and everything else. My adopted mom has been complaining of neck pain for probably three years. It has greatly impacted her life. She has spent thousands going to doctor after doctor. They decided her only hope was pain management. Nothing is working. They even had her on the fentynal patch (sorry for my spelling). She just messaged me today. She has another daughter in the medical system. That daughter decided to go through all of the doctors notes and found out that my mom has a break in her neck! She fell years ago and they found this break but nothing was ever reported to her primary doctor and nothing was ever said to her. She's 84 now and has lost a few of her good years because of this. Hopefully they can do surgery now and fix it but how much pain? How much money?? How much time??? I have more stories but the healcare system is a disgusting, greedy business and has been for decades at least. Anyone who says otherwise is a fool. Health "insurance" needs to be done away with and replaced with a savings and imvesting program for the people. Big pharma... I'm not sure what to do with them because they're terrifying and seem unstoppable. I don't usually believe in packaging major issues into a single deal either... at least not at the voter level which this is not. Get rid of Obamacare. It didn't work. Americans are sick. We lead the world in chronic diseases. We need help. Find something else. AI is not going to stop. It's too late to slow it down. If you don't get on the bandwagon, you're going to be left behind with a multitude of others. We will lose many jobs and hopefully new ones will be created. This has happened before in history. Remember, there used to be shoe makers, hat makers, dress makers, weavers, blacksmiths, onion farmers and other small farmers, etc, etc. Factory farming took over small farmers (go big or go home 😢). Ignorant towns made nearly every form of food control illegal even simple things like backyard chickens. Think of the industrial revolution. Unfortunately, I think a lot of these craftman probably wound up in factories. This wasn't a good change, imo. It sucks but there was no way to stop it just like there was no way to stop computers and there is no way to stop AI. I think that the search for alternative energy is all about AI too. Though I like going to a 32 hour work week... it won't be enough. Many people aren't having children so maybe the future population will be smaller but.... hear me out. We are suffering from more mental health issues than ever before. We don't have time to cook and most of us have lost the skill. The stress, lack of nutrition, loneliness, etc, etc.... What if mom's came back? What if women went back into the home. There would be enough jobs for every household. Companies would have to compete for workers instead of workers competing for them. Women would have time to learn about nutrients and make good healthy meals for the family. It's hard to be a stay at home mom now because their aren't enough of us to learn from and support each other. Women could take care of their husbands and children instead of some paid employee and government entities. This would benefit women too because we will need be equal in the workforce. It's not fair that we have to work while carrying a future citizen in our body. It's not fair that we have to pump during our breaks at work to feed our babies...that's not a break. It's not fair that our newborns are ripped from our arms at six weeks old so we can go back to work. That's against our instincts. Even a dog gets more than six weeks! It's not fair that we have to use our sick time and vacation time for our ovulation pain and our menstruation that a man will never have... so he gets more vacation time then us. We work outside the home, carry the children, give birth, do most of the diaper changes, do most of the raising (because it's more instinctual for us), we still do most of the cleaning inside the home, and we probably still cook at least 50 percent of the time. We do the shopping too. I even see women mowing the grass! I truly believe the man's mental health will improve substantially if he regains his instinctual purpose as a human male which is to protect and provide.... but can we trust the man to value us. How long will it take for everyone to forget how bad it was without a mother in the home? The first generation to grow up without a mother in the home became the hippie generation. There will be a learning curve but bring back moms and grandmas and watch our entire society transform as families become family again.
