Imagine yourself entering a big store, part of a brand chain. You get tagged on sight, by facial recognition AI in Paris , even if you live in Prague. the Store AI will know your exact behaviour and the kind of purchases you do, if you are prone to complains and returning your purchases or you usually keep whatever you bought, if you pay cash or with cards, if you have debts, if you have financing from the chain or the back, which bank, if you have protests, how much are you paying, how much have you paid so far, how much you ask to pay per month, what is your income (based on the financing agreement), if they can lure you with tailored discounts, basing on how often you enter the chain's store and if usually you enter with a specific purchase in mind or on a whim, or you are mostly attracted there by special offers, rather then by something you actually need anyway. This is just a few things that come to my mind, and you get all of this by showing yourself at the door of any store related to that brand... What if that AI can search in a few second all the Instagram, Facebook, tags, related to you and heuristically associate with products, places, preferences... ... Would you feel "violated"? Look at that Alexa device in your living room. Think of what more sinister agencies could do with your profile then!
