Raw LLM Responses

I believe a true artist will use AI the right way. It is non-artists using AI that we need to worry about. A real artist cannot publish a book knowing the core of the work is not theirs and that it was handed to them by AI. At the same time, it is unreasonable to say artists cannot use AI at all. I am writing a series of short stories, and AI is acting as my editor because I cannot afford one. I spend hours writing in Google Docs, and a lot of it is rough, but AI helps me improve it. All the ideas are mine, aside from some very minor suggestions. Most of what AI gives me does not even pass my personal taste. It often feels generic, and knowing what to keep and what to throw out is part of being an artist. Many of you are in writing groups and get feedback from other people, which also influences your work. This is not that different. I want to put out a book, and no one can tell me I cannot. I make a point to tell AI not to give me ideas, only to help with structure and point out where I can improve my prose. I want to learn and be the one who does the work. I am not a trained author. I come from the film industry, so I have always been a storyteller. Writing is something I am growing into, and I am enjoying it. At the end of the day, this really comes down to taste. If you do not have it, AI will not give it to you. If I published a book knowing AI did the writing, I would hate myself.
