What we have now isnt true AI, it’s virtual intelligence. It can’t create beyond what it’s been fed.
This is why AI art is so offensive, it shows us what we could be doing. Every artists aesthetic is informed by their teacher, experiences, what they’ve seen. Even a young artist has experience beyond what could be fed to an AI, yet it’s all too often iterative and unoriginal. Now you have AI generating images ppl could have done, but didn’t. The insult is matching us while working with less.
AI art is chastised for being devoid of emotion. Love, passion, sorrow. But it also lacks the worst of humanity too. Hate, racism, greed. Think how much money influences artists. Rest assured learning anthropomorphic anatomy wouldn’t a prudent skill set if it wasn’t for furries.
AI will only replace humans if we allow it, or we can embrace it and use it to elevate art
