It’s just lazy policing. Facial recognition gives you possible suspects when you have nothing else to fall back on. It’s now the job of a diligent police to investigate further to see if this suspect pans out. What I see here is police cutting corners and charging folks based on facial recognition alone which is totally wrong. If they had done what they were supposed to do they would have seen that he had an alibi and known he was the wrong guy.
