In order for an AI model to be 'poisoned' all of the THOUSANDS of 'poisoned' prompts have to be VERY SIMILAR in the way they are smeared up. If you have RANDOM SMEARING, you won't do a thing. Why? Unfortunately for you, AI filters are being used to prevent Porn uploads on sites like CharacterAI (A GOOGLE owned property btw so you know it's got potential to spread very far.), which means they have to be able to AUTOMATE the UN_SMEARING of your 'poisoned' art so that they can prevent bad uploads. In other words, it's completely reversible... by AI. Yes. People are using Nightshade (NS) to upload porn past automated filters. The only way that NS' smearing can prevent something, is if it is your art. Most specifically if the reference is to prevent your own style from going out. The random or distorted aspects don't work if it is from a wider category. So since you specifically went after a hand-study which has the largest category of images available, you did the least amount of impact possible. I know I'm just blindly using caps on too many words, but these are the key items a lot of people like to ignore completely. Also to put it bluntly Using another artist's work as a reference, or even using Photoshop... is the same thing, so if your 'poisoning' were to really work, it'd have to work on humans too... You can't cut a line between these things other than conceptual aesthetics... well unless you can figure out some kind of legal terms that would actually specify a difference, as currently most arguments can only say "It's the same process, only with a computer in the middle" which is where the real problem lies. You have to very clearly define how the process used is undeniably different. Also, this has all happened in the past. Remember Photoshop, when it first came out and people were rabbling that it was "theft of an artist's tools" etc? Or how about the Camera? Artists back then spread rumors that they would steal your soul. etc etc.
