The only logical driver behind the automation/AI from the thechnofeadalist perspective is to break down the post WWII social contract in full employment, which refers to the implicit, mutual understanding between workers, employers, and the government for shared prosperity, where workers trade loyalty and effort for job security, fair wages, benefits (like pensions/healthcare), and stable career growth, while government ensures safety nets and fair rules. and the employer risk their capital for a justified return.
It's late stage capitalism basically, with these new age tech-capitalists, using very targeted algorithmic tools, seek to extract all the value from the workers, But they have to come up with a narrative to sell this dystopian gig economy as a utopia of flexibility and abondance, stating that you can work whenever you want and that the super-charged AI productivity will make everything so affordable.
