The video talks about the "slop layer" meaning code that nobody understands and cannot maintain.
This is not a new problem created by AI. Companies like Apple experienced this all the time years ago. A team is created to produce a new App that marketing wants. the app is produced and ships. The team breaks up accept for a few maintainers. Marketing soon loses interest in the App, but it continues on as part of the legacy. Slowly the original maintainers drift away. One day the word comes down that a version update is needed for the app. A team is assembled. They look at the existing code and documentation. They cant figure it out. The pitch is made to rewrite.
Much of this video may be true or it may be cope and hope....
