I'm a software engineer, and I can't help but laugh at the people calling you a luddite. You're pretty clearly using technological tools effectively to streamline your process for creating art... you're using tools as tools, not as a crutch. Your points here are pretty spot on, particularly when you talked about inspiration, your subconscious and your personal experiences bleeding through into the art. That's the whole point of art - it is a reflection of the artist that people can appreciate. It mixes with the viewer or reader's own life experience to make something completely unique for everyone that interacts with it. AI "art" lacks this completely. And a last message to the folks who think it is trivial for AIs and the developers working on them to bypass tools like nightshade - it is an arms race, and it is always easier to break things than to fix them. Just look at the situation with adblockers vs organizations trying to monetize the internet. It takes *so* much longer to try to force ads through the many different ways people block them today. The end result is pretty much always a patch invalidating their efforts within hours.
