This is exactly why corporate taxes need to go up. If they're putting people out of work, the government needs the tax revenue to support those folks - possibly for the rest of their lives. Some folks could retrain and start another career if they're young enough. Both anyone over the age of 50 is pretty much screwed. Universal basic income as well as universal healthcare and free education is becoming more and more necessary. Even with retraining, it won't solve the problem forever. Eventually, nearly every job will be replaced by AI and robots.
