Not only are our cities way more complicated with narrow streets and blind intersections, cycling is really gaining as a mode of transport.
How long do you think the average parisian is going to tolerate dumb self-driving cars before we start smashing sensors ?
Do you know how many scooters were thrown in canals and rivers ?
People are going to trash these cars and operating costs will skyrocket.
Furthermore, cities won't make it easier for car US car companies to deploy when our domestic manufacturers are lightyears behind on self-driving.
I am pretty confident this will stay an american problem for a while.
