Software is never free from bias, and anyone trying to tell you otherwise is grifting. In the case of traditional software, it's biased by the human that wrote it. In the case of machine learning or "artificial intelligence", it's biased by the dataset used to train it. Acting as though any sort of software, let alone an unauditable black box, is capable of making an entirely unbiased decision is naive.
