We don't need superintelligence to solve humanity's problems. We already _know_ how to solve humanity's problems. We _know_ how to feed everyone, how to provide better medical care, how to prevent climate change. This is because these problems are not caused by some nebulous forces we don't understand and need superintelligence to help us understand. They are caused by _certain people being evil tools,_ and these bad things are happening because these people _like it this way._
What do you think will happen when Jeff Bezos asks his superintelligent AI what the most efficient way to save the world is, and the AI tells him to convert Amazon into a global food distribution system and then use his money to buy all coal powerplants and in-place upgrade them to fission plants - or whatever. You think Bezos is going to _do that?_ Or do you think Bezos prefers to be the richest man on the planet, and doesn't give a fuck about the rest of us?
