A bit earlier, you described the plot of Angel Engine, how people are using the power of the angel to sacrifice their humanity, the price of technological overreach, and how you see AI slop as just that, a sacrifice of humanity.
What if that was the point?
Using Generative AI was meant to further envoke the feeling of a loss of humanity and such, tying directly into the themes of the series. One of the comments you showed on-screen pointed out just that. So maybe using Generative AI for the visuals was an "artistic," or at least thematically fitting, choice.
So now that he's used a real artist for the series, while I'm sure that the majority of people think of it as a moral and ethical win, I think it looses a bit of the thematic punch it once had. Yes, the visuals look better, but having the visuals be AI slop really sells on how the world of the series sacrificed it's humanity, and now it doesn't have that anymore.
