The issue is we live in a post ethics society. If something is of decent enough quality, cheap to produce, and a lot of people will pay some sort of value for it, then who cares if it was made by sticking babies in a blending in another country! The people with the most money and power certainly don’t care, they wouldn’t be rich if they did. And the people with the most power have to most control over the narrative.
That’s why no one even bothers to ask if AI art is ethical. Cause WE KNOW that enough people will consume it for companies to keep producing it. Better still if they can either manipulate us or force us to consume their slop by studying all the data we keep giving them just by living our lives.
