AI will not wipe out the working class. The capitalism is wiping out the working class. AI is a tool, the same as an automobile, a washing machine, a phone is. You can use it to free people or enslave them with it. That's not technology. That the abuse and misuse of technology. It's supposed to be designed to free human beings but under capitalism it will hurt the average person. Has nothing to do with AI itself. AI is just another innovation that can bring about a technological evolution that we have to adapt to, just as we adapted to cars from stagecoaches, to TV from vaudeville. Icemen used to carry ice cubes to houses. Refrigerators wiped them out. And I can give you hundreds of examples like this. Do you understand what I'm saying?
You live in the past. Adapt to this technological reality. Stop trying to freeze the society, it has to move on. And capitalism won't survive anyway. It's self defeating. If you have millions of people displaced from their jobs and automation increases, they don't require health insurance, they don't go on strike, they don't smoke, require medical care, they don't get tired and they don't eff around. You can also afford lower ceilings, no air conditioning, and so on, and products that are turned out this way are more efficiently produced. So you have a rise of automation, which reduces the purchasing power of the general population which leads to collapse of this economy. Jeremy Rifkin said that in the book End of Work in 1995. Jacque Fresco said the same thing... you can't sustain this system for much longer, we are in its last stages. What comes next is the question. We can build a paradise on Earth where most boring, monotonous, dangerous, filthy, repetitious jobs are automated and people are free to purse what they love to do. Or we can have a capitalist dystopia depicted in so many science fiction movies (they just extrapolate based on the worst aspects of this society but they are written by artists and not scientists so take them for what they are.. and most of them are some jerk's idea of the future)
