Why in these discussions does no one ever seem to make the comparison to the advent of photography. Many artists lost their jobs when photography became available. Illustrated news, catalog illustrations, real estate renderings, I can go over a thousand things. Artists figured out how to make things that photography couldn’t. Including figuring out how to use photography to make better art. From Andy Warhol to Chuck Close to Jackson Pollack would not exist except for the reaction to photography. There were plenty of artists at the advent of photography who whines about pushing a button and getting an image. The ones who survived and thrived were those who stopped whining and figured how to make the reaction to photography work for them.
The same thing is going to happen with AI. You don’t have to embrace it, but you have to make your reaction to it worth something more than a fearful boo hoo.
