I think the big issue with AI isn't even AI itself but that the decision makers in most companies (CEOs, board members, shareholders) are detached, all they care about is making and saving money and tend to have a very narrow outlook on how that's achieved. They see no long term issue with replacing all humanity with AI because they don't care about the long term anymore.
Ironically these people are the most replaceable in any company as they tend to have no familiarity with the product or field of the company, just some vague skillset that promises higher earnings (an MBA in short), only reason they haven't been booted yet is cause...well...no idea, honestly, probably cause their at the top of their food chain and AI can't be held responsible in the same way a human can...yet.
