On a tangential note, I have run across more than a few people who only see hi resolution modern images as high art. I believe superficially AI can create/mimic/blend/guess.... just about any style. To the untrained...the non art trained mind,....If it is good enough, it is good enough. It fools people with how good it can look. They don't care how it was made, but how it looks. or sounds... or how good was the experience of watching a movie. All the little extras that typically go unnoticed by the untrained eye.... subtlety and nuance and originality that come from a traditional artistic ie mostly or fully human approach.... mostly are undetectable and therefore left unappreciated by the untrained eye. The more "real" or closer to expectation, a style looks, or even hyper real, in their mind, the more apparent skill of the artist. If AI accomplishes this level it is enough for acceptance and enjoyment by many. They don't see stylistic choices as a choice of the artist, but a downgrade from anything quasi faithful reproductive and with highly detailed quality. The latest images, It is only on the closest inspection the AI illusion falls apart. The hard part is seeing a non artist (the vast majority) point of view about what is art. When you understand that non artists don't see or understand visual art in the same way even a novice artist does let alone a pro, well then it all makes sense. Everybody is still going to like what they like. There are artists who appeal to artists and musicians who appeal to musicians. These artists and musicians are usually of higher caliber. Not necessarily the most popular or successful though. And the big draw is being able for the non artist to be able to get AI quality visual feedback (notice how I avoided calling it art) that they don't hate, nearly effortlessly...This used to take much work or pay an artist to do it. AI art is a quick and dirty way to get some of the way there (your creative vision)... or if your lazy or cheap all the way there lol...without investing much or any personal money, time energy or practice to build this skill. It can still be pretty satisfying to some in its own way. The same can be applied to music and up until very recently or in the near future ...movies...books...who knows...The thing is though, an artist who loves making art is going to create even if dirt poor because that is what they love/do. The tools will change, but the artist is the one presenting the vision. How was it created? Is it not just a question of your honesty in using the tool as a tool and not to fool people.? Of course, some will not use it this way, and so ....there could be a question of... is it worth it? So far.... not that much has changed except the way to the top of the art business.... looks different from the bottom than it used to. Now, more than ever, if business is your goal, then successful art is about building an attractive artistic human brand, even if AI is in the mix. Have fun and enjoy what you do!!! Stay human...Happy creating everyone!!!!
