I think people like Trump are a more likely WW3 threat.
On the other hand, just like the "chosen one will bring balance to the Force", maybe AI->global War->the demise of biological intelligent life on Earth is something that has happened with every other civilization that we cannot find in space and it's merely evolution...as in 'inevitable' which is how balance is maintained on a universal scale.
