I have to disagree with most of those points, although i applaud high quality presentation.
F.e. car manufacturers will never want, nor demand infinite speed limit for everyone. The higher😮 speed disproportionately burn fuel and destroy car parts. And that costs them money. Maybe double the speed for 10x premium and triple the speed for 100x premium and that would be available to those who ACTUALLY need it - ambulances etc.
Even as low as 30mph is an acceptable speed if you are just doing the daily commute without traffic jams, without traffic lights, with smartphone/vr headset available to pass the time (or, you know, just start the work). Whether it will be 30mph or 70mph or w/e will be decided by an algorithm for the most cost efficient solution. And there is nothing wrong with that.
Where the devil lies is in those shitty city planners. I'm sure some of them are doing good job, but as a guy living in europe without a car license, i really wouldn't move to american city.
