So I'm hung up on the "A*Search" algorithm with the maze. How could you even calculate which path is closer, from a relaxed pov? My brain is stuck saying, that only works because we know every path to B, even the ones that aren't true paths because we have visibility over the entire landscape. How is that possible? It was my understanding from earlier discussion that from any given point, you can only see your neighbors.
Is there an assumption here that was not explained, e.g., we were provided a complete map to begin with?
