I actually had a very long talk with chatgpt about this recently and I told it that I always speak Norwegian to dogs, regardless of where I am. I explained that I think dogs are much better at understanding humans than language and when I speak my native language, I'm the most human I can be, making it easier for the dog to understand. ChatGPT said it was exactly the same and that it specializes in understanding me, so the more naturally I express myself, the easier it is for it to provide relevant responses.
