The problem is that you are predicting the future with todays eyes, and make no room for humans and society will adapt to changes made. If there are 99% unemployment rate the global economy would collapse.
What society would grow from the future AI society, of course a society outside the frames of AI.
Why do we need a AI-plumbers if no one can afford to have a shit on a toilet in a house?
So todays work that AI would replace in the future are work that provides products or service for humans in the end. So in the future who will buy that product or service if 99% of people are unemployed and have no money, what will drive the Commerce?
These are questions that are left out of the scenarios painted by the guys in this video. In short who will invest in technology that will produce stuff that no one can afford to buy?
In a real scenario the global economy will slow down year by year, and the unemployment will increase for sure, but somewhere there is a threshold were everything will break apart and governments and/or public will interact.
The reason for why we are still hurting ourselves producing stuff to the cost of environmental harm, is that the economy is still growing from the production.
The general public wans to have cheap electricity so they are willing to buy cheap environmental harmfull electricity, and the harm it cause is slow and not noticeable for most.
But I am not sure that people wants to buy dirt cheap AI produced services or products since they can see the harm of unemployment up close and in short time frame.
We can take USA as an example, they pay a bit more to buy American made and avoid China import, and this is a direct response to high unemployment numbers some years ago and patriotism.
I think this will apply Globally to AI produced products and services, people will choose human made. Humans and society will adapt, and that is what is missing in this talk!
