using ludite as an insult is a pretty good red flag to indicate the person using it is not very knowledgeable about the history of the working class or is actually against the working class. A ludite is a supporter of the working class who opposes the owner class' use of automation to exploit the working class. AI is exploitation of the working class by the owner class, the wealthy with the means to host massive servers and GPU farms to run generative randomizers to fleece those gullible and poor enough to settle for soulless slop. Realistically artists do need to charge upwards of $100 for their art because it IS skilled labour, and the work isn't steady. Even AI slop needs infrastructure and resources, it's not free... investors are just pissing money away into a burning money pile, the only product of which is smoke.
