The reason I see most people use AI to draw art, is to use for something that they want an image for, but can't afford an artist or can't realistically expect an artist to really do. Like, my mom is an artist. But she uses AI to make character profiles for her DND characters. Her friends can make detailed images of each of their characters, even making their characters image different with different artifacts. Could a human do that? Sure. Is a human going to do it for free, or for the pennies my mother could afford to pay for one? No absolutely not. Could my mom do it herself? Sure, but it'll take her hours, and she can't maintain that kind of work anymore. What about making images for prototyping? What about people who can't draw, they don't get to be creative then? They just have to pay artists who after a week might make something they like? Or is art only for those with money or who can draw? Is the art any less pleasing to look at because it was made by an AI or a human? Now, right now most AI images are fairly obvious and have a distinct style. And if all we saw was AI images, I feel we would lose a lot of quality. By the way, these poisoning effects are likely just going to make the models more robust. The reason it works right now is because no one has tried poisoning images, so models only had clear crisp training for the most part. If we have 50 or even 20% of images being poisoned, that means the models can learn better, and their art will be better looking. Draw if you enjoy drawing. Try poisoning if you want. Your art is nice. But the models will get bigger and smarter. Within 10 years, you'll likely be able to see a full video where each frame was drawn by an AI, and made into a video that is coherent, keeps the styling consistent, and keeps the characters consistent, all made within an hour by a single person and AI working together. And people will be able to share their creative visions that's locked away in their heads with others. Maybe your art will even be able to come alive, and you'll be able to see your characters dance and play.
