When Casio made major advancements in all-electric CALCULATORS, did we worry the device would become conscious and sentient? Destroy the world? No? So why do we worry about LLMs? The difference is letters instead of numbers. The hype is embarrassing. The LLM remains fundamentally an advanced statistical engine, predicting the next plausible word based solely on its training data.
