Honestly the best pr moment was when the whole tech industry convinced the world that "the Cloud" etc is immaterial. The amount of resources used to store and process data are immense. AI does not even exist, the only thing we have are LLM's and other bullshit ML software. It cannot teach itself, it is just an algorithm deciding which word goes after the next based on probability. The data for these models are stolen, the energy is stolen and sometimes even water is siphoned from cities to cool the machines that train these models. OpenAI almost went bankrupt because of the sheer costs of training Chat-GPT and 'creating' new datasets, since data to train these models is running out. The only reason they're afloat now is because of investments by Microsoft, NVIDIA and others. (shocking I know) ... AI is a scam
