Someone calling themself an "ai artist" and taking credit for the thing a machine made is like if someone commissioned an artist to draw smth by shoddily tracing over other people's artwork and then that commissioner takes complete credit for the plagerized drawing. It's just plagerizism on top of plagerizism.
And I'm so incredibly tired of ai bros saying, "An ai copying the work of others is the same as when a human does it." Cuz no it's not. Human artists get in trouble for tracing art or copying an art piece way too closely without disclosing where they got the reference image from. One of the major cardinal sins of the art community is copying someone's art, especially without crediting them. There's literal laws in place to stop human artists from doing this. And that's exactly what AI is doing. AI is copying images without disclosing it's reference images, except unlike human artists, the users and creators of this AI will rarely see legal punishment.
