I think the unfortunate reality is now we have this meaningless version of art, it isn't truely ment to make you consider the depths of something, it isn't ment to portay a real expression of life, thought or anything really to generations that will pass, it's the equivalent of spam messages, posters and gift cards, something to be seen once then forgotten. Most of the amazing works made by people are buried under piles on piles of garbage, for every peice that had thought and effort put into it that you could spend hours if not days delving into the details there are twenty blank canvases of orange or basic shapes, 30 ocs made just to be cool (and that's fine and it is cool just not art) 20 toys made with extra shiney detail so it can be sold for more, and atleast 10 pure mockeries. Ai can't do that purely because it cannot exist in our world, it does not express things that exist, it has no feelings or mindsets that die with time it makes the same piles of disposable pictures that industries have been made around... one argument for ai being art is the process of making metal, electricity and plastic think like a human as self examination but that is for anyone to decide. Overall I think ai will either further drown art or people will start looking for that which cannot be replicated resulting in a new death or life of art. I know alot of people are not going to like this take and that's ok, I have friends who make simular things they claim as art and I too am guilty of this because I make metal sculptures that I sell as toys and people keep as interesting nicknacks and conversation starters.
