They are on average safer than humans. Driverless cars are the new hot thing so of course they’re gunna get big coverage. But if you wanna see how frequently manned cars end up in trouble, look at any dash cam channel and then realize that many more cars than that don’t have dashcams. This doesn’t excuse it of course, as it should always be looked into, every time. Do not get complacent. But they aren’t exactly wrong in the statement.
