Most likely they will push this thing about "AI should have rights as a person" for a purpose that is not good. Next thing you know all the comments youtube, Twitter, etc., will be mostly populated by AI bots (so many bots already are) pushing whatever agenda they want on us and if actual people try to clean it up they will say "AI has rights too!" to prevent actual people from stopping it. That is just 1 example, where there could be countless other potential negative consequences. Typical problem-reaction-solution.
