Initially I thought Miyazaki during that interview was far too heavy handed on the students, but after seeing some of the results and how this crap is used I realized I simply underestimated a good old man's foresight and knowledge of human behavior. So far, AI has not been used in a good enough way to outweigh it's downsides, and I reckon it will not for decades, if not centuries, simply due to how exploitative and lazy the average person is as soon as they gain any sort of extra function that enables their bad habits. This has, so far, been the equivalent of giving a neutron bomb to a bullied child, and the bullies napalm. None of this has added a positive to society except in small, extremely inconsequential ways. It needs to be regulated.
