Something that made me genuinely sad was my mom and brother sending me ai art for "inspiration" or "hey take a look at how you would be as an anime", the question was not if it was beautiful or anything like that (as they assumed), it was that the image was NOT made by an artist. My brother tried to confort me by saying "don't worry, ai art can't actually substitute traditional/digital", then he used the same picture he sent me (made by an AI) as his profile picture on twitter. I mean, if it can't substituted why didn't he pay an artist to do an actual art for him?
