the one and only "use" gen ai has is providing a "product" to people who are lazy af and were never and will probably never want to pay for someone with actual skill and expertise to do such jobs. I personally do not care about some guy who claims they "can just generate it" when I open my commissions because in reality they were never going to pay me in the first place even if AI gen tech didn't exist; those people have existed since the birth of art and other passion based skills and they're never going away. what I do have a problem with is obviously the amount of industry career artists who are losing their jobs to this stuff because an idiot CEO decided that something fake and cheap was worth more than paying someone a living wage. the claim that disabled people are 'helped" by AI gen imagery is also really really disgusting; it comes from the same place that anti-choicers use to justify forcing people to give birth in that their key argument is "but think of the children!!" when they don't want things like free school lunches, they have no intent or interest in fixing our horrible adoption system, and most of them don't care about the type of life the child will have with parents that didn't want OR couldn't afford to take care of it properly. at the end of the day these people do not care about "progress", they just enjoy the thought of someone that has a skill/life they are jealous of potentially having a worse time of things. they are just worthless miserable people who probably sit in their basements all day and copy paste wojack memes on twitter pff
