Though he claims to be agnostic, Hinton is suggesting that AGI will soon overtake human. This is quite unlikely because LLM is based on language and philosophy of language (i.e. Wittgenstein & Co) does reveal the problem of language for understanding the world. The physical world is much more than language and visual world. In this sense the argument of Hossenfelder is more realistic than Hinton’s – another kind of planning fallacy alias expert blinker.
