NDT is admittedly naive on the AI/AGI topics. Some examples.
1. Positives will outweigh the negatives -- It only takes a few catastrophically bad negatives to tip the scales.
2. AI can't be "creative" -- This is a myth, a misunderstanding of human creativity and creativity generally. Creativity does not occur in a vacuum. Just as in evolution, the engine of all living change on the planet, creativity is a function of the mutations that allow survival when system pressures increase or change. AI isn't creative because it hasn't learned how and doesn't have the pressure. AGI will be able to do this because creativity is an element of the definition. Can we create AGI? Probably, but it may take much longer than we think to do it (safely).
