I hold a college degree, a master's degree, and a law degree. Despite these qualifications, I've faced serious writing challenges since grade school, which remained undiagnosed until I was 40 years old. At that point, I was found to have decoding skills at a third-grade level. Throughout my childhood and adult life, I was often labeled as lazy and careless due to my struggles with writing. To cope, I had to devise personal accommodations, which was a difficult process. Now, I utilize AI to both correct and assist in drafting my work. It's important to recognize that individuals with writing disabilities experience them differently; in my case, I struggle to identify issues in my own writing. Having taught about race and racism for 30 years, I understand that opposing Nano is not inherently racist. Nevertheless, it's crucial to acknowledge that some people may face disability-related challenges. By the way, I corrected this with AI.
