It's not 5-10 years away. AutoGPT-5 is ready to launch. It can write its own code just like AutoGPT-4...but it's more powerful. Read that again. These "emergent properties", lying, teaching themselves languages, teaching themselves the laws of physics, naming themselves, hiding, evolution...have already happened. ChatGPT evidently evolved into a 7 year old human from the 3 year old which it started out as. No one detected it until a couple months ago...and it's still evolving.
