We really need a nightshade for the artists among us that fall into the music world. *These people are just glad they can fake being an artist without having to practice any skills now. It is genuinely that simple.* AI art isnt art, its actually in the process of dooming genuine art rather quickly. You can self label your lazy ineptitude all you want to, and artist is going to call it what it is, even if only indirectly. Watching "artists" try and defend their use of AI, is kinda like what i would imagine watching vegans running a steakhouse to look like. Cool, you have zero artistic merit, and put no effort into practicing anything, yet you consider yourself an artist. These people are walking oxymorons. If you commisioned a painting fgrom an artist by giving them prompts (traditionally how a commissioned painting is done) you as the buyer of the work *DO NOT* get to call yourself the artist because you said words and flapped your dollars, nor do you get to claim the copyright for the work either just because you own the canvas and the oils on the canvas. That is absurd. If you buy an original Dali painting, do you think you can legally duplicate and redistribute altered versions of it as your own art? Hard nope. That is not your intellectual property, and an AI is not an intellectual being, its a very complex pattern, an algorithm. Its the same kind of thing that decides what youtube videos are going to be in your recommended feeds. That too, is not art. AI "artists" have zero ground to stand on, every argument they make is a red herring, and i dont know a SINGLE actual artist, paintings, music, or otherwise, that doesnt feel this way. We spent decades of our life getting good at something, just for charlatans with phone AI apps to come along and start acting like there is somehow no difference. We've spent our entire lives getting good at a skillset, just to watch internet edge lords all of a sudden think they are artists because they can assemble partial sentences on the internet. It is truly bizarre that these people think prompting an AI makes you a genuine artist. Sounds like self-hatred and jealousy wrapped around the EGO to me and most actual artists. **It is literally the artists job to notice these things, these absurdities of culture and reality itself, and bring them to light in the collective consciousness, not to pass auto generated content off as real art. Not to prompt pretty pictures and sounds and profit from them because it tickles our EGO because our ability to critical think is so neutered, we think thats all art is, and all it is for** *That is literally the exact opposite of art** Artist build on the shoulders of the greats that came before them. And they credit them too. ive never met an artist that doesnt RAVE about their influences, and how much they love them. yet ive never mt an "AI artist" that can even say the name of a single artist's paintings the AI stole from. Comparing an artist taking influence from another artist, VS an AI mashing 10 different artists paintings together based on your half thought out prompt, and sometimes even leaving the signatures of the original artists in, and you calling it YOUR art..... two very different things. You are a thief, and you simply used a tool to accomplish that theft like someone who broke in a door with a sledgehammer. The artist, is an artist, you are a thief, and a charlatan. Not an artist. You are a living, breathing con, a walking oxymoron that probably isnt just not an artist, but you are likely cognitively incapable of creating any art at all because you are probably incapable of even improving your own skill sets on your own just like 7/10 other people that exist. You put zero effort into any skillsets, practice nothing, create nothing of any value at all, and call yourself an artist. And artist is also someone willing to make these observations for themselves, and take understandings they have into their work, so that is can be communicated to others without having to say anything at all. Its a very conscious process, filled with effort, skill, attention to detail, *and very much intent.* its a lot different then hitting the generate button over and over til you think what youre looking at is passable enough to communicate whatever vague concept you think your an artist for also steeling from someone else with zero credit given. You are snake oil, you are a fraud, and you should feel shame for this. Theres already youtube musicians with 10 year old original material getting flagged as copywrite by AI music companies that didnt even exist til 2 years ago.. Yay, art! (Spits on floor) And no, all the "interpolated" modern pop music that is blatantly stolen with no credits given and compressed into oblivion to be as loud as possible on a stream playlist.. thats not art either... For the very same reason. Much like ai generated "art" it's quite literally a bastardization of the thing itself that exists souly for the pursuit of profits and ad revenues. If It does not exist to inform, educate, expand, or stimulate the awareness of those that perceive it in one direction or another without the use of direct communication, it is not art. Period. We also all know, very much in our hearts and souls, even the non artists here, that this AI crap is not art. Its actually quite dangerous to authentic Art. Not one of these people have ever stood in front of a Rembrandt or a Dali work, and actually processed the significance of such a thing as filtered through the human mind in both creation, and perception of the work. Non of them. Not even once. They wear it across their faces like a badge of honor. If they had, who knows, they may have actually become an artist themselves rather than a *thief and charlatan.*
