AI is a tool, and it should be treated as such. At university, my professors have already returned to in-class/proctored paper exams - even for I.T. & programming courses. The students who use AI to do all of their homework and assignments are only doing so at their own detriment, but the students who use it as a tool to guide their curiosity will no doubt achieve even greater improvements. I hope that AI will cut back on the amount of trivial busywork & homework that grade school teachers assign, and focus more on completing tasks in-class, with a traditional pencil & paper.
