More people need to know that "AI" such as ChatGPT has absolutely no idea what it's talking about. It cannot actually understand anything. It can do a surprisingly good job at mimicking all sorts of types of text when prompted, and you can even fool yourself into believing there's a sentient being on the other end, but it's not even remotely intelligent. None of it is "AI" as we know it from science fiction. The hype around the tech has seriously gotten out of control, and unless there's a concerted effort to educate people about what these language models actually are, goofy stories like this will continue.
