Charlie, you are right and also absolutely wrong.
Please, please rethink the usage of "talent" in this context. This view and personal value-system is not only highly subjective ... but simply irrelevant in front of a court (and you should not reason otherwise!). If anything at all, you can objectively measure of how much value a piece of art is (or anything at all), then by the amount of work (or transformative work) that was put into it or its design or creation. INTO THE ART ... not in generating it or building a tool that generates art (which may make the tool the important creation, but not the automated output of it).
Oh and all of this is soooo simple and unbelievable cheap and old: This fraudster just wanted to sell his overpriced snake-oil. Period!
